# Claude setup

Jaspers Screener and Jaspers Research run as connectors in Claude, giving it SEC filings, fundamentals, holders and insider trades for US public companies inside any conversation. A connector you add on claude.ai is there in the desktop and mobile apps too.

There is nothing to install. Setup takes about two minutes and needs a Claude account and a Jaspers account, which you create when you first sign in.

## What you can do

After setup, you can ask Claude to:

- Find S&P 500 companies with gross margins above 60% and revenue growth above 20%, then check which of them depend on a single supplier, with the filing quotes.
- Summarize what a company's latest 10-K says about its biggest risks, citing each passage to sec.gov.
- Compare how a company described a risk across its last three annual reports.
- List the insider purchases at a company over the past year, from its Form 4 filings.

Claude routes these through the connectors, which call Jaspers' servers and return results Claude can summarize, tabulate or chart. Screener runs and citations open in interactive views inside the chat.

## Setup

### 1. Add the connector

In Claude, open **Customize → Connectors**, click **Add custom connector**, give it a name, and enter the address:

If the dialog asks how Claude should identify itself, keep **Use Claude's published identity**; no client ID or secret is needed. Click **Add**. Add the other connector the same way if you want both.

Custom connectors work on every Claude plan, and the Free plan allows one. On Team and Enterprise plans, an Owner adds the custom connector for the organization under **Organization settings → Connectors → Add → Custom**, and members then connect with their own Jaspers accounts.

### 2. Sign in with Jaspers

Click **Connect**. Claude opens the Jaspers sign-in page: sign in with an email code or a password; a new email address creates an account. Approve the connection on the next page and you are back in Claude, connected.

## Test the integration

A few prompts to start with:

- "Use Jaspers to show me Apple's latest fundamentals and its largest institutional holders." (Screener: Company snapshot)
- "Find Nasdaq-100 companies with net margins above 25%." (Screener: Screen companies)
- "What does Microsoft's latest 10-K say about competition in cloud? Cite the passages." (Research: Search filings, Show citations)
- "List the Form 4 purchases at NVIDIA in the past year." (Research: Query the Filing Database)

Then hand Claude a longer brief and let it chain the two:

> Screen the Russell 2000 for companies where insiders bought shares in the last six months and revenue grew over 15%. Of the ten largest, which mention a going-concern doubt or a material weakness in their latest filings? Quote the filings and cite each quote.

Claude screens with Jaspers Screener, starts a qualitative run on the short list, follows it, and reads further with Jaspers Research where you ask for depth.

## Troubleshooting

**You can't add a custom connector.** On Team or Enterprise, only an Owner can; ask one to add it for the organization. On the Free plan, remove your other custom connector first.

**Sign-in didn't complete.** Open **Customize → Connectors**, select the connector, and connect again. Finish the sign-in in the browser window and approve the connection.

**"Couldn't reach the MCP server" or an authorization error.** Check the address is exactly `https://s.jsprai.com/mcp` or `https://r.jsprai.com/mcp`, with no trailing slash. A connector added at an older Jaspers address no longer works: remove it and add it again at the address above.

**A tool answers that a subscription is needed, or that your account does not include research.** Your Jaspers account has no plan or preview for that connector. See your account page, https://account.jsprai.com/auth/account.

**A company "is loading".** Research loads a company from SEC EDGAR the first time anyone asks about it, which takes a few minutes. Claude follows the loading; ask again if it stopped waiting.

**Claude answers from memory instead of the connector.** Say "use Jaspers" in your prompt, or turn the connector on for the chat from the **+** menu under **Connectors**.
